San Diego ML startup gets more Chinese backing

Kneron had already received backing from China's Alibaba and Qualcomm amongst others. Horizon Ventures was founded by Ka-shing Li and has invested in such companies as Skype and Facebook during the early stages of their development. San Diego

Kneron offers IP for machine learning acceleration in edge equipment to perform real-time classification, recognition, inference, and analysis without connecting to the cloud. Kneron's solutions include a dedicated AI Neural Processing Unit (NPU).

Albert Liu, Kneron's founder and CEO, also said that an AI solution designed to work with 3D data will be launched in the second half of this year.
