NXP extends software solutions for MCUs based on the Power Architecture
Developers of automotive applications need to launch new products with improved safety features ever faster. NXP is now providing an expanded suite of its software solutions for the automotive industry to help its customers develop applications for complex microcontrollers.

The software solutions for the MPC56xx and MPC57xx microcontroller families from NXP enable customers to develop numerous automotive applications such as gateways, functional safety, electric motor control, motor control, radar, brakes, steering and suspension. To support this industry standard, NXP now offers Autosar MCAL and the operating system software for the MPC56xx MCUs free of charge. For the MPC57xx family microcontrollers, NXP announced a price reduction for Autosar 3.0 / 4.0 MCAL and the operating system.
The NXP products for automotive applications are implemented with MISRA and Automotive SPICE-compliant development processes. For software designed for MCUs from the NXP SafeAssure program, the development process has been extended to ensure compliance with ISO 26262 for functional safety.
NXP software can also be integrated with other software developed for Autosar, as well as AUTOSAR configuration tools from other vendors. The NXP MCAL packages include drivers for all major MCU peripherals for initialization, communication, I / O handling, and storage management.
