Bosch partners with Sony for automotive HDR cameras
Changing or poor light conditions do not only represent a challenge to the human eye, but also to video sensors which provide safety-critical signals for driver assistance systems and automated driving. To make such sensors better, automotive tier one Robert Bosch and Sony Semiconductor Solutions will together develop a high-dynamic camera technology.
By Christoph Hammerschmidt eeNewsautomotive, May. 29, 2017 – Besides radar, lidar and ultrasonic sensors, video cameras are the most critical sensory organ of today's cars.Advanced driver assistance systems like lane-keeping assistants, traffic sign recognition or pedestrian detection with emergency brake rely cameras and are increasingly in use today. Video sensors provide a much higher signal density and better object recognition in comparison to other sensor types.
