South Korean to create world's largest test-bed for autonomous driving

Business Korea has reported that the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure & Transport (MOLIT) of South Korea is about to open the world?s largest test bed for self-driving cars, dubbed K-City.

The facility with an area of approximately 360,000 square meters will allow self-driving car developers to repeat their tests with various scenarios and road environments. Due to open in October 2017, the facility will host bus-only lanes, expressways, zones for autonomous parking and so on. The project into which approximately 11 billion won (just under 8.96 million Euros) are to be invested is expected to attract a large number of South Korean companies, such as SK Telecom, Naver and Samsung Electronics as well as automakers like Hyundai Motor Company and Kia Motors.
