Intel selects Mercury Systems to join FPGA tech-based network

CHELMSFORD, Mass. Intel officials selected Mercury Systems to join the company's FPGA technology-based Design Solutions Network (DSN) as a platinum-tier provider.

By Mariana Iriarte, Associate Editor, May. 19, 2016 – Mercury officials say, the DSN program brings together the former Design Services , AMPP, and board/ members into a one program with common membership criteria and benefits. Intel acquired Altera, which is now the Intel Programmable Solutions Group (PSG). To read more on the integration of Altera into Intel, click here.

DSN enables customers to find and utilize members to help accelerate time to market and lower product development risk. At the same time, the members benefit by accelerating new Altera customer projects or board/ development.

"We have worked collaboratively over several generations and have come to value Mercury's embedded industry insight and their supporting technologies," says Vince Hu, Vice President, Customer Experience Group, Intel Programmable Solutions Group. "These efforts have expanded the applications served by our processing solutions in several key areas, including and electro-optical (EO)/infrared (IR) ."

"This approach is a win-win," says Shaun McQuaid, Mercury's Director of Product Management. Collaborations like these facilitate the support required for early access to FPGA devices. "As in the case of the new Stratix 10, early device access enables a faster, reduced process which benefits our customers and facilitates rapid feedback."
